John began his career as a Wealth Management and Wealth Advisory Professional with Shearson Lehman Brothers, Inc. and worked with clients in the development of diversified investment portfolios specifically focusing on Tax Free Municipal Bonds, Equities, and Corporate Debt Securities. Since the outset of his career, John’s commitment to serving clients’ best interests, at all times, on their terms, has been his highest priority as he endeavors to deliver trusted advice and counsel for clients’ financial objectives and wellbeing. John’s mission is to understand and serve clients’ best interests and most important needs by working to ensure that the management and stewardship of all resources is fully and continuously aligned with the unique values, priorities and objectives which comprise each relationship.

During the course of his career, John has worked on behalf of clients across the spectrum of financial services platforms, including; global financial institutions such as Smith Barney(Morgan Stanley), Merrill Lynch, PaineWebber(UBS), and Ameriprise Financial; independent and community bank based financial advisory practices; and corporate fiduciary trust companies within national commercial banking organizations. Additionally, John’s extensive and wide-ranging experience includes; corporate based roles delivering wealth advisory practice management expertise, strategic management of global asset manager relationships, and corporate leadership collaboration in development of wealth advisory best practices; comprehensive planning for wealth transfer and succession, legacy protection, and charitable giving; and trust officer duties. 

John and his wife Betsy, a pre-school teacher, live in Minneapolis and are parents of three children who reside in the Twin Cities. In addition to their professional work, John and Betsy spend time engaged in outdoor activities, the arts, and trying out the next best recipes and pairings. John and Betsy support organizations which provide assistance and resources for individuals and families affected by developmental and other disabilities. 

John is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  with a degree in Management and was a scholarship athlete and Letterman on the UNC football team…Go Heels!
