Susan Stiles is the founder of Stiles Financial Services, Inc., an independent financial consulting firm based in Edina, Minnesota, that emphasizes custom portfolio management and holistic advice solutions. In addition to the wealth advisory practice, the firm specializes in advisory services to retirement and pension plans, providing in part, fiduciary oversight, investment monitoring, and participant financial education. Ms. Stiles has been servicing clients since 1993. She has been regularly quoted in business and industry publications both locally and nationally. Her approach is education driven with an emphasis on implementing behavioral finance to achieve positive outcomes.

She is an active member of a number of industry business associations including Financial Planning Association of MN, ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries), Financial Services Institute, PSCA (Plan Sponsor Council of America), NAPA (National Association of Plan Advisors) Investment Management Consultants Association, Midwest Pension Council, Edina Chamber of Commerce, and the Economic Club of Minnesota.

Ms. Stiles has authored a variety of columns and articles over the years and has been retained for industry speaking engagements. In 2004 she launched a highly successful “Lunch and Learn” seminar series targeting Retirement Plan Sponsors to deliver current information on issues pertaining to the prudent and best practices of managing qualified retirement plans and acting in a fiduciary capacity. She authored a column on “Retirement Readiness” in 2010 and 2011 to help individuals make good decisions to position themselves for a successful retirement. “Be In the Know”, a monthly education forum for retirement plan participants and clients offers an opportunity to take a deep dive into a variety of topics.

Ms. Stiles is a MBA graduate of the Johnson School of Business, Cornell University with a concentration in finance and accounting and has a BS from the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University. Ms. Stiles was active for many years as Chair of the Learning Center for Economics, a joint collaborative with the Minneapolis Public Schools, Federal Reserve Bank and Minnesota Council on Economic Education to support financial and economic literacy. Her passion for animals has led her to join the board of MN SNAP (Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program) where she as served Treasurer on the executive board. She is past President and Treasurer of the Minnesota Cornell Club and has been a CAAAN (Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network) volunteer for 20 plus years. Ms. Stiles has always been a strong advocate of education and financial and economic literacy at all levels as a means to help individuals improve their lives, and works passionately toward the cause of improving the achievement gap. Ms. Stiles resides in Edina, MN with her husband Jeffrey Robbins and their three dogs. Together they have four married, adult children and two grandchildren.

Michael joined Stiles Financial Services in 2021 as a Private Wealth Manager, bringing over 10 years of wealth management experience. Michael thrives on making personal connections with clients. He loves helping clients to achieve their financial goals and follow their dreams, creating new opportunities for them through personal wealth management.

Prior to joining Stiles Financial, Michael started his career in wealth management with Merrill Lynch. He then moved to Vantage Point Wealth Management, where he spent time developing comprehensive financial plans, asset allocation, and retirement planning. Most recently he worked under BRP Capital as a Private Wealth Manager. Primarily focusing on personal financial planning, he also worked with clients on individual security selection and running investment portfolios that used alternative investments, derivatives, and futures trading.

Michael was born and raised in the Western Suburbs of Minneapolis. He attended St. Cloud State University where he received his B.S. in Finance. While attending school he met the love of his life, his wife Jaclyn. They now have five children, and Michael and Jaclyn stay active with their children in many activities. In his free time Michael loves to play golf and hockey.

Paul Tichy

Paul joined SFSI in 2016 as an Associate Portfolio Manager and Investment Research Analyst. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and asset management industries, Paul has provided planning and investment advice for high net worth individuals and their families, and helped multi-million dollar money managers and institutional investors with their portfolio decisions. At SFSI, he is responsible for researching and analyzing securities, helping to develop and build custom portfolios for new clients. He works closely with the entire team to develop strategies and portfolio recommendations for both individual and corporate clients of the firm.

Paul was most recently a Regional Vice President for Fisher Investments. Other prior employers included Merrill Lynch, Cowen & Company, Piper Jaffray, RBC/Dain Rauscher Wessels, and Anchor Bank. Paul enjoys working with clients and reviewing their current investment strategy. His background and experience allows Paul to help clients understand the multitude of options currently available to them and discern which may be best for them, given their personal goals and objectives.

Paul was born and raised in the Chicago area where he received his MBA in finance from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in Chicago, Illinois, and received his BA in economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He was a four year starting pitcher for the Northwestern University baseball team competing in the Big Ten at the Division I level. Paul was a recent President of the Northwestern University Alumni Club of the Twin Cities.

He lives in Orono with his wife, their three boys, and Bailey (their golden retriever). He is an active volunteer for youth baseball and football programs as a coach and a baseball association board member.

Deb Rosenberg

Deb joined Stiles Financial Services in 2012 and has over thirty-five years of experience in bank trust company and benefit consulting environments. She brought her retirement plan expertise to SFSI to focus on corporate plan investment strategy/oversight and other fiduciary concerns.

Deb was previously a Vice President and Regional Sales Director at M&I Institutional Trust Services (now BMO). Other prior employers include Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson), First Trust (now US Bank), and Norwest (now Wells Fargo). Over her career Deb has worked with qualified and non-qualified plans of all types and sizes. She has worked in all aspects of retirement plans including plan design and compliance, administration, employee education and communication campaigns, and investment strategy. Her work at Stiles includes oversight of retirement plan consulting activity, relationship management, and sales and marketing activities.

Deb is a Minnesota native with her B.A. in Business and minor in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She has her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. In addition, she has ISCEBS Fellowship status through a commitment to ongoing continuing education. Deb is active in the Twin Cities Chapter of ISCEBS including past President and other Board positions. She is currently Chair of the Education Committee. Deb was elected to the ISCEBS Governing Council in 2013 for a three-year term which began in 2014. In 2013 she was also appointed to the Advisory Board for the Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project.

Deb has her Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation from fi360. And, in 2016 she received her Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation through the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), part of the American Retirement Association. Deb has her FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses and is studying for her Series 65 license.

Deb is active in Midwest Pension Conference, the Minneapolis Pension Council, and a benefits study group. She has taught classes for ISCEBS, the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota, and Gustavus Adolphus College. She is a frequent speaker and author on retirement topics including the ISCEBS Symposium regarding retirement plan governance and retirement readiness, the Plan Sponsor Council of America national conference regarding target date funds, and the Midwest Pension Conference regarding fiduciary best practices. Her volunteer activities include Gustavus Adolphus College (Alumni activities, Women in Leadership National Advisory Board, and the Gustavus Mentoring Program), Chanhassen Rotary, Children’s Cancer Research Fund and Feline Rescue.

Kristine Iten

Kristine began her career as a Trust Operations specialist working for a small trust company based in Sioux Falls and became the Operations Supervisor as the company grew. Most recently her role was a Retirement Plan Specialist where she focused her work on providing custom service for small companies to keep their retirement plans in compliance and work with the entrepreneurs to ensure their plans were structured to benefit the staff, ownership group, and company. Knowing her clients and their individual needs is what she prides herself on most.

She received a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota with minors in Business and Music. She also holds Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Accredited Investment Fiduciary designations. As a lifelong Twin Cities resident, Kristine loves the ever-changing seasons and finds ways to enjoy the weather year-round by playing sports, going on walks with her dog and fishing with her daughter. She also loves to cook, go to concerts, and travel with Montana being her favorite destination.

Cyrus Simmonds

Cyrus S. Simmonds joined SFSI in 2021 as an Associate Financial Planner and brings with him four plus years of financial services industry experience. Prior to SFSI, Cyrus worked as a Financial Paraplanner with MRK Financial Solutions providing support to a team of financial professionals in areas of wealth management and financial planning. This included meeting preparation, trading, and help with quarterly performance reviews as a member of the investment committee. Prior to MRK, Cyrus was with Proviant group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise financial providing almost identical services.

Cyrus was born and raised in West Africa, Liberia. After graduating high school there, he immigrated to the United States along with his younger brother to reunite with his dad who had moved to the U.S. a decade prior.

Cyrus started school at Saint Cloud State University the following fall after arriving in the winter of 2010 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance in the fall of 2016.

He currently resides in Eden Prairie with his significant other and 2-year-old son. During his down time, he loves to play recreational basketball and get outside and enjoy the weather.

Cyrus gets a level of satisfaction from helping people achieve their financial goals and waking up every morning once they are retired with that peace of mind. Cyrus looks forward to meeting and building a relationship with the clients of Stiles Financial Services in the months and years to come.

Tina Newman

Client Relationship Manager

Tina joined SFSI in 2014 as a Client Relationship Manager. With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, she provides ongoing client relationship interaction, onboarding of new clients, facilitates the client review process, and provides service for our Wealth Management division. Additionally, she also oversees our internal processes, licensing and registrations, and compliance.

Tina’s past experience includes Fortune Financial and BMO Harris Financial Advisors, where she spent over 14 years. In both firms she provided support to financial advisors in all areas of their businesses. This included client reviews, trading and reporting, purchase of insurance products, and coordination with broker/dealers. She has also enjoyed planning and facilitating client and prospect seminars. Tina is focused on delivering a high level of customer service and responsiveness to requests.

Born and raised in Minnesota, she crossed the border for her BS at South Dakota State University in Brookings. During that time she worked in the research lab for the veterinary science department. Following graduation she shifted her focus to banking and investments. Prior employers include Fidelity Investments, M&I/BMO Harris, and Fortune Financial.

Tina is married with three young daughters. She loves the outdoors and is active in her neighborhood community and local church.

William Pappas

Operations, Technology & Compliance Manager

Will joined Stiles Financial Services as the Operations and Compliance Manager in 2021. He brings over seven years of corporate project management, business intelligence reporting, sensitive information data compliance, and internal business process documentation among many other business management tools including expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Prior to working for Stiles Financial Services, Will most recently worked as a Customer Experience Improvement Business Analyst local Twin Cities business Surescripts, the nation’s most trusted healthcare information network Prior to that, he worked for Ziegler Caterpillar in various capacities from Warranty Analyst to Marketing Customer Relationship Management. He enjoys applying his critical thinking skills professionally, and looks forward to finding innovative opportunities with his colleagues at Stiles Financial Services to enhance our clients experience.

Will is a Minnesota native and he graduated from Edina High School with honors, and went on to graduate from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN where he earned his B.A. in English. He continued his education at Southern New Hampshire University where he received his MBA with a certificate in Healthcare Management in Manchester, New Hampshire. Will’s educational and professional background has grounded him with an excellent foundation for business operations and compliance management. He has experience in data compliance, software administration management, and developing and implementing personnel training programs that will help Stiles Financial leverage all of the technology tools the firm is investing in to improve both internal business practices and ultimately our client’s customer experience.

Will is a long-time avid motorcycle rider of a Yamaha FZ8 and Yamaha Vino 125s, both owning and finding meditation in tinkering with and fixing motorcycles. Will has been very fortunate to be engaged in his Greek heritage by traveling to Greece on several occasions throughout his life. Most recently he and his wife took a cruise of a lifetime around many of the beautiful Greek islands. He is a foodie and home cook that is into smoking meats, vegetables and hot peppers; and dabbles in fermenting foods like hot peppers for hot sauce and kombucha. He is a nerd who enjoys many types of board games, yet also likes to watch sports like football and soccer. He enjoys fishing and bicycling outdoors, and spending quality time with friends, family and his dogs. Will resides in Bloomington with his wife and two Pomeranians.

Janet joined Stiles Financial Services Inc. as the Office Administrator, bringing 28 years of financial industry experience.

Janet was with Wells Fargo Advisors providing support to financial advisors in all areas of their business while building a reputation for providing excellent customer service.  This included handling the administrative side of setting up new accounts, processing deliveries/payments, researching account problems and maintaining files to meet regulatory requirements.

Janet was born and raised in Minnesota. After High School graduation, she traveled Europe with her sister and family friends where they were fortunate to see many places. She went to Anoka Ramsey Community College for Business Management.

Janet lives in Roseville with her husband of 20 years and their two teenage girls and 2 dogs.  She enjoys watching her girls play sports, swimming, and traveling.

Kaylin Eidsness joined Stiles Financial Services in 2020 as the Marketing & Communications Manager. Kaylin brings with her more than a decade of public relations, crisis communications, marketing and graphic design experience. Prior to working at Stiles Financial Services, Kaylin worked for the City of Edina as Senior Communications Coordinator. She enjoys applying her communications and marketing knowledge to the financial services industry.

Kaylin grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota and graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and minor in Graphic Design. While in college Kaylin studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Kaylin is an active member of the Rotary Club of Edina, Edina Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of the Edina Crime Prevention Fund and Edina Fall Into The Arts Festival planning committee. She is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Committee for Edina Magazine.

She lives in an old house with her husband, their two young children and geriatric cat. In her free time Kaylin enjoys cooking and baking, gardening and Pilates. She loves touring houses, interior design, traveling and all things history.
